About us

We have lived in Glendon for over 30 years. Although we are not farmers as such, we have been involved in farming during this time. When the children were small, Sue and her mum reared calves. When the children were older Sue went back to teaching. Adrian worked in London until 1999, when he took early retirement.

We first looked at alpacas at a time when we needed ‘something new’ to do. Our younger son was killed in road accident and we felt that something different would be our therapy. Alpacas seemed to fit the bill – they needed feeding, looking after and there was a lot to learn and research and in return have a calming effect and give enjoyment.

Our grandson stays with us regularly and loves to feed and herd the alpacas. See the picture of him with the alpacas – he was 2 at the time.

Alpaca with Grandson

Adrian has spent much time with the alpacas and been on a number of alpaca courses in an effort to learn as much as possible about them. He has been a director of the British Alpaca Society and co-editor of the society,s magazine ‘alpaca’. We are still learning.
